About Us

In 2004, Brian Verville, DPT started Granite State Physical Therapy in Hooksett, NH. Brian left a hospital setting with the goal of creating a Physical Therapy practice that would allow him to treat patients without some of the constraints and systems that he felt limited his ability to provide them with the best overall outcomes and therapy experience.

Brian, who grew up in Pembroke, New Hampshire, extended this concept to providing sports medicine coverage for local athletic events and teams. His excellent treatment skills and growing reputation with members of the community and medical practitioners created the need for an additional practice location.

In 2005, Brian partnered with Scott Underwood, MPT, and the Concord location was established. Scott left a hospital-based management position to be able to concentrate on developing a practice setting for the same reasons that Brian started the Hooksett clinic. Scott grew up in the Fingerlakes region of New York State in a small farming community. He and Brian found that they share the belief that we are here to provide the members of our community with excellent rehabilitation services.

It is our hope that these “hometown” values will enable us to complete our mission:

Granite State Physical Therapy exists to treat, assist, coach, train and motivate each patient (hometown neighbor) to maximize their functional ability related to injury, illness, performance, and injury risk factors by providing expert evaluation, treatment and education. This is characterized by giving each individual the time, consideration, respect, compassion, quality and value that we and our family members would expect to receive.

We believe that we need to be innovative advocates for those who need our services in the present struggling economy and healthcare system. We strive to be part of the solution rather than part of the problem. We believe that our patients should receive care that is valuable. In other words, the goal is to have every patient receive the therapy experience and functional outcome that is well worth the investment of time and money.

We are very pleased to have been able to open our third site in Gilford, New Hampshire in 2011 to make treatment of our Lakes Region patients more convenient. Granite State Physical Therapy’s role in supporting local athletics continues to expand. Brian and Scott are extremely pleased to have a staff that embraces the core values of Granite State Physical Therapy which has made this growth possible. Their expertise and commitment to patient care have validated the reasons for which Granite State Physical Therapy was founded; to serve our community.

Best Wishes for Excellent Health and Wellness,

Brian, Scott and the Staff of Granite State Physical Therapy
