As young athletes gear up for a new school year, Granite State Physical Therapy (GSPT) is offering a free, three-day clinic designed to help them train smarter, recover more effectively, and avoid common sports injuries.
The “Recover Right: Learn to Train, Fuel, and Heal” clinic will be held August 5-7, 2025, from 6 to 7:30 p.m., at NH Technical Institute in Concord, and is open to students entering grades 6 through 12.
Unlike traditional sports camps, this clinic focuses on education and long-term athletic health. Participants will work directly with certified Athletic Trainers and physical therapy professionals to learn how to move safely, reduce post-workout soreness, fuel their bodies for performance, and strengthen areas prone to injury such as knees, ankles, and lower backs. Each participant will receive take-home instructions and simple routines they can continue practicing on their own, helping to reinforce good habits throughout the school year.
“We see student-athletes every season struggling with preventable injuries, things like sprained ankles, sore backs, and chronic knee pain,” said GSPT’s Head Athletic Trainer Madisen Glaze, MS, NH LAT, ATC. “This clinic is about giving them tools to take care of their bodies so they can stay in the game and perform at their best, all year long.”
Led by professionals who work with local student-athletes during the school year, the clinic is intended to bridge the gap between training and health education. Participants will leave with actionable strategies they can apply at home, on the field, and in the gym. The skills and knowledge gained will not only support current athletic performance, but will also help lay a foundation for long-term physical wellness and potential future athletic endeavors.
“Many students don’t learn how to properly warm up, recover, or recognize early signs of injury,” said Glaze, who will oversee the clinic. “We want to teach them not only how to train, but how to listen to their bodies and recover well, skills that will benefit them far beyond this summer. The take-home materials are a great way to keep the learning going long after the clinic ends.”
The clinic is offered at no cost and is part of Granite State Physical Therapy’s ongoing commitment to community education and injury prevention. Space is limited, and early registration is encouraged. All registrations must be received by Sunday, August 3, 2025.
