Athletic Trainer – NH Mountain Kings Academy

Granite State Physical Therapy is currently searching for an Athletic Trainer to support the NH Mountain Kings Academy in the 2025-26 school year.

NH Mountain Kings Academy is a tier 1 Hockey Academy, offering high-end skill development alongside an in-person academic experience unmatched by any other program. NH Mountain Kings student-athletes attend Bishop Brady High School in Concord, NH, and reside in dormitories located on New Hampshire Technical Institute’s campus. On- and off-ice training is held at Tri-Town Ice Arena in Hooksett, NH.

In this full-time, benefitted live-in position you’ll:

  • Provide medical coverage at practices and games for four NH Mountain Kings Academy teams (15U, 16U and 18 U boys, and 19U girls);
  • Serve as a dorm parent, shaping player development off the ice;
  • Maintain high-quality health records on all injuries, relevant illnesses, prevention, rehabilitation procedures, and communications;
  • Comply with standing orders as set forth by the supervising physician; and
  • Collaborate with the Director of Athletic Training and physical therapists for treatment plans as necessary.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or professional degree in athletic training.
  • Licensed as an Athletic Trainer or eligible for licensure by the state of NH.
  • Board of Certification (BOC) certified.
  • Maintenance of current health care provider/professional rescuer CPR and AED certification.
  • High energy, maturity, enthusiasm, leadership qualities, ability to advocate for self and patients.
  • Self-starter, able to work independently with strong time management, organizational skills, and attention to detail.
  • Team player mentality.
  • Ability to communicate with athletic directors, supervisor, and other members of the healthcare team including physical therapists and doctors.

Physical Demands:

Consistent with published industry PDC norms or minimally:

  • Requires manual dexterity and general strength and endurance.
  • Lifting routinely loads of 5-35 pounds from floor to waist, waist to shoulder, and shoulder to overhead.
  • Carrying routinely loads of 5-10# for 40-50′.
  • Pushing routinely loads of 5-150# on casters, runners, or pulleys.
  • Sustaining a grip routinely for 1-2 minutes of 40-50#.
  • Guarding a lift load routinely of 120-140#.

Exposure Determination:

  • Has the potential for Hazardous Substance Exposure due to work duties.
  • Has the potential for Bloodborne Pathogen Exposure due to work duties.

HIPAA Status:

Has been determined as eligible for access to/use of PHI and EPHI based on work duties and responsibilities in compliance with minimal necessary standards.
